I am trying to replace text as below but could not figure out the exact syntax..Any help much appreciated..
  • Any case sensitive word that begins with AB1 or AB4
to strip out the AB and leave the rest.
For example, AB12121 should become 12121..
This will be run across a few text files in one directory

Thanks in advance!

I see you've not had a reply. The obvious way to go is with regular expressions (which are documented in various places, you don't need fnr-specific documentation). But if you don't have AB1 and AB4 anywhere except at the start of a word, the simple solution is to replace "AB1" by "1" and "AB4" by "4".
