Replacing line containing matched text (not fnr, use sed)

Someone asked, as a review rather than in the discussion, if it was possible to replace an entire line containing some matching text (I think it's been deleted, it's not a review). I've used fnt a fair bit, and don't think it can do that. I'd say the tool to use is sed, a Unix utility that's been ported to Windows. In principle there's quite a lot of learning involved, but someone's done the work; see
